Round two of "What's that jeaun in reference to?"

Let's keep the ball rolling. Here's an easy one:

When did Alan get arrested?

This one might be cheating, but I don't think so:

Is the first guy a hockey coach?

Posted by: gs at April 2, 2003 05:12 AM

Yeah.

He's Red Berenson, the current UM coach and the winningest hockey coach in UM history. He also scored an NHL record-tying 6 goals in one game as a member of the St. Louis Blues.

Like I said, I know that's a cheap shot, but since the Wolverines are going to the Frozen Four next weekend, hockey is huge here right now, and it's pretty hard to get away from.

The second guy we should all know. He's a Grinnellian of fairly significant renown...

NO! That's not Bob Noyce. Right building, wrong graduate. Here's a hint: He's Grinnell's only Nobel Laureate (at least within the hard sciences; I'm not sure about the "fake" Nobel Prizes). And you thought you had gotten off K. Scott free.

Dag nabbit... Am I too much of a biology nerd? In case anyone's interested, my last one is Tom Cech '70, who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1989 for his groundbreaking research on RNA, and is currently president of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
