Lady breaks her legs jumping up and down to complain about loud music
Now, I sympathize with her plight. I don't have any problems really right now, but a band used to practice under our bedroom in our old apartment on Foster on weeknights past midnight.
On the other hand, I think it's really funny that this woman broke her own legs. She must be fat. If you want to, we can get into how I feel about most fat people. Too bad she didn't go through the floor.
Lets not go into how I feel about stinky hippies either.
Posted by: Fat Johnny at October 20, 2003 09:54 PMI'm guessing that's you Chris. You can totally go into how you feel about Stinky Hippies. In fact, lay into em. I'm not really one, so I'm not involved.
Being a stinky hippy is a choice I think though. You choose to not wash yourself, listen to Phish, get stoned all the time and wear patchwork clothing. Oh yeah, don't forget the patchouli and knee-jerk liberal political views.
On the other hand, fat people are much more odious. I'm not talking about you people with imbalances or medical reasons for being fat. I'm talking about the people who are just fat because they're lazy, eat fast food and watch TV too much. I can laugh at people for their lack of self discipline. Not that I'm perfect. But at least I'm not fat.
I would like to remind EVERYONE who reads this that my hypocrisy knows no bounds. But at least I'm not fat. (and stupid enough to break my own fat legs jumping up and down)
I don't even really need to respond here, because I believe you've made my point. I felt there needed to be a placeholder here with my name on it, to preserve my honor.
Posted by: Graver at October 20, 2003 10:21 PMnow, I'll add another comment. I'm making it independent to avoid being a 'response' to your self-defending comment, colin.
This person is most probably a moron.
Posted by: Graver at October 20, 2003 10:24 PMwell, at the risk of....something, i'd like to ask a follow up question to colin.
how DO you feel about fat people? and why should someone else's body fat index have a a bearing on your emotional state? do you just hate them because they have a shortcoming? if so, why is it that this particular shortcoming irks you so? where does "fatness" fall in the "spectrum of deplorable" next to, say greed, bigotry, being bad at math or enjoying "belle and sabastian?"
just curious.
Posted by: ae at October 21, 2003 01:01 AMWell Win,
It has no bearing on my emotional state. Honestly, fat people just annoy me. Fat obnoxious people annoy me further. It's the "fat attitude" that bothers me. One of entitlement and laziness. Fat people who are annoyed because you're in their way on the L because their bulk takes up the entire walking space between the seats. Fat people who assault my visual cortex by wearing tight clothing. It just disgusts me.
I mean, granted I'd like to think that I actually judge people by the content of their character and not their "cover" if you will, but being fat says a lot to me about their character in a certain way.
Now, there is a caveat to this....one of my best friends in the world is a huge huge fat lady. She's got medical issues so she gets a pass. Hell even if she didn't she gets a pass.
I'll put it this way. Fat people annoy me. Stupid people annoy me. I can only hope that things like this self leg breaking happen to stupid fat people. It may be cruel and I may be an asshole, but that's by choice. I'm not lazy...at least not enough to be fat & stupid.
Fatness is on the minor end of the deplorable scale, but I feel like it is indicative of worse things you could learn about the person if you got to know them. Like George Carlin said, "Why hate somebody because of the way they look? Once you get to know them, you'll have plenty of reasons."
Anyway...I think I've proved again that I'm an asshole whose hypocrisy knows no bounds. But you all knew that.
"It has no bearing on my emotional state"
....
but it annoys and disgusts you... hmmm... perhaps you're simply in a constant state of annoyance and disgust...
yep, that's our colin!
Chris...it's not like you need to point it out. The contradiction & hypocrisy is key. Key.
Posted by: colin at October 21, 2003 07:01 AMOk, I know it's not exactly polite to ask, but that huge fat lady you know with the medical issues?
It's Graver, right?
Posted by: chrisk at October 21, 2003 06:05 PMshe could have osteoperosis or bone problems too. or she's old. i hope you hate old people too colin.
personally, i love old people. especially the awesome old ladies down the block that wait for oliver in the morning and give him kisses.
that being said, i'm gnawing on a stick of butter wrapped in cake while laying horizontally on the el in my mu-mu because my fat clothes don't fit anymore and i'm too lazy to go buy new ones. new clothes money is stuffed pizza money going to waste...
Posted by: l "louie anderson size it please" w at October 21, 2003 07:07 PMAmen sister! pass the butter.

Posted by: a dork at October 21, 2003 09:57 PMjesus.
ummmm...
well.....
Maybe we should force all fat people who do not have a medical reason reason for said obesity to wear an armband with a picture of a pig on it so everyone knows they are lesser of a human being and not worthy of common curtesy afforded the skinny and therefore deserving of our society.... You know stuff like moving out of eachothers way or letting them wear the clothes they want because it may offend the skinny elite. Perhaps after some time we could institute some sort of sterilization of these "people" so they cannot pass on their fat and lazy genes.
You know you are so wrong and you admit it but yet you hold on. It's tenacious to a fault.
yes, I've recently become puzzled by Colin's apparent belief that admitting his own hypocrisy somehow excuses it. Admitting and adhering to such gross hypocrisy only serves to invalidate any future arguments you might make. Essentially, it turns you into one of the inconsequential babbling faces that I ignore every day. Guys like preachers on the street corner... or racists... or the mentally infirm.
Obviously, your arguments are far different from theirs, but they share the unifying aspect hypocrisy and idiocy. I suppose, you may not care if people simply don't pay attention to you or lend any credence to your opinions. I'd be surprised if that were the case though.
I guess really, I haven't written you off because I'm fairly certain that you only make these arguments to infuriate. I mean seriously, who doesn't have someone they love and would defend that happens to be fat? You obviously do colin... and because my fat family hails from the fattest region of the fattest country on this fat world... so do I.
So basically, you've only succeeded in making us look like huge morons for arguing with such a moronic stance. The sooner you realize your lean physique is because you lucked out on the gene pool and are still young, the better.
Posted by: Graver at October 21, 2003 10:57 PMI'm just trying to get some stuff moving on these boards. Been dead too long. I know my hypocrisy does not excuse the invalidity of my arguments. And yes, I'm doing it to offend and infuriate. I know it's stupid to hate people of any generalized group. I don't really. I do hate individuals. And I probably shouldn't use the word hate because it's an annoyance that comes and then goes.
Keith, I like your ideas. The sterilization is a good idea. But let's not do it to fat people. Let's do it to stupid people. PFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTT!!!!!
Posted by: colin at October 21, 2003 11:34 PMYou know what I hate?
Poor people!
I mean what the fuck, just go to the atm or something! I mean if these assholes are too lazy to take the time to memorize their pin numbers they could at least go through the trouble of writing them down. Then you could go buy a bunch of Big Macs and piss off Colin instead of me!
Man I love Big Macs!
