I don't know how many of you all knew Marc Bunnell, but he was a friend of mine and a close friend of Phil Moore. He dated Luftig for a while, and his parents lived in the brownstone next to cedar house. He died Saturday in a skydiving accident. He had moved to Tucson, AZ to pursue his love of skydiving and had recently taken on a job with a skydiving outfit. What fucking shitty news. I will miss him very much.

Wow, that is extremely shitty. I'm really sorry, Mark. I also didn't know him too well, but I have to say I shared Win's impression of him, and Brian Cochran told me about his devotion to skydiving.

My most sincere condolences.

I heard the news earlier today. I also remember him being up in the jeaun a couple times. He seemed like a really great guy and I'm sorry for the loss.

This whole situation completely sucks. I have been on and off the phone with Ryan Lenz and Amy Luftig since Saturday night. Ryan called the drop zone in Arizona a couple of times to figure out what happened: Marc was taping a jump and there was an equipment malfunction. The final moments of his life are captured on digital camera.

This is really terrible. Mark, if you want to talk to me about this please call. I don't want to post my number, but Ade, Tim, and Wadsbone (I think) should have it.

Marc and Ryan came to visit me in Chicago a couple of months ago; I've never seen Marc happier. I have been thinking a lot about the fact that he died doing something that he really loved.

I remember Marc always daring us to do stupid shit in high school that we were too pussy and/or uncreative to think of, like climbing various buildings and standing in the back of a speeding pickup. While this annoyed me occasionally, I always admired him for it. And despite all of that, he had a tremendous capacity for both compassion and common sense.

God. Worst year ever.

I have been trying to call Marc for about a month now, to no avail. Yesterday, I tried e-mailing him, and got it back today. In a random effort, I put his name in Google and found this page. I read the first line, and thought, it must be spomeone else. Until I read that he was skydiving.
I'm stunned.
Marc was an incredible, funny, daring person. It is good to keep in mind that he died doing what he enjoyed most.
The gruesome fact that it's on tape~ horrible, but you know, I think he wouldv'e gotten a kick out of it, in a way.

I LOVE YOU MARC!
