Yeah dont you love the ethinic, religious, and sexual diversity!

Here is the real sad part though. Even though I am a square ass white boy just like them..... I still do not feel represented by them.

Imagine how totally unrepresented you would feel if you were not a WASP male.

Thanks Win. I can always count on you to make me need a cocktail five minutes after waking up.

As a wasp myself, I find myself not represented by these people either. But there's more to them than that. They're part of the rich connected good ole boys network, which I am, unhappily, not a member of at this time. Can we get a roll call of these fat fuckers? Is that Tom DeLay on the right?

I know the one on the left is Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL)

Oooh! an oppurtunity to nerd out.

from left to right:

house speaker dennis hastert (IL), sen. orrin hatch (UT), rep. james sensenbrenner, (WI), sen. rick santorum (PA), rep. james oberstar (Minn), sen. mike deWine (OH).

all of these folks are GOP except oberstar, who is just an idiot.

I knew Hatch would be there. So it's not so much that they're old fat rich and white, but that they're rabidly against other people having any fun. Or knowing things that their fundamentalist "daddy-god" might not be happy with them knowing.

Don't they look like 5th graders watching the leader of their gang writing a dirty note?

sensenbrenner is such a fat fuck piece of shit. he's the rep from where i grew up. i told him off senior year when he came to speak on how a bill becomes a law or some other bullshit at my high school. my brother actually got him to vote against some kind of wetland bill, though, when he was doing lobbying for the sierra club in dc.

as a white non-waspy (catholic) woman, i have to say that looking at these guys and knowing what they do actually fills me with rage. fills. me. with. rage.

As a white heathen, I find myself ... laughing every time I hear the honorable senator from Pennsylvania's name.

Santorum. Hee hee.

God bless you, Dan Savage.

As a future member of the "medical community," whatever the hell that is, I find the outlawing of any procedure that has the potential to help patients -- in this case perhaps even save their lives -- unconscionable. But then again, I think Jack Kevorkian is a hero, so my views on patient advocacy could be fairly described as pretty damn liberal. (Kevorkian was a Wolverine, BTW. He got his MD here in 1952, so I walk by his portrait about 4 times a day.)

Ah, yes. And who could forget Rick Santorum's intelligent, well-reasoned comments half a year ago concerning sodomy laws? It's been a banner year for him.
